I found my MGA at Flabob Airport in June of 2000.  Someone had carved, literally, a Ford Pinto engine and transmission into the car.  What a mess.  It took 3 years and a lot of effort, not to mention money, to bring the car back to life.  It sports an 1800cc Mgb engine; a 5-speed, all syncro Ford Type 9 transmision; a 3.9 rear end; full burlwood dash with magnolia faced instruments, chrome wire wheels and whitewall tires.  It cruises at 78 MPH at 3100 RPM.  Great for our Nevada highways.  Boost it up to 3500 RPM and you are doing 85+.   Its a ball to drive.  I have entered it in 11 shows here in the Reno area and have 10 first place trophies.  This year I even got itno Hot August Nights.  Should be a ball.   Gene deRuelle
